Each transformer undergoes comprehensive Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), including:
- Visual and dimensional inspection
- Winding resistance measurement
- Transformer turns ratio (TTR) test
- Vector group and polarity verification
- No-load loss and excitation current test
- Load loss and impedance voltage measurement
- Applied AC withstand voltage test
- Induced AC overvoltage withstand test
- Partial discharge measurement
- Lightning impulse withstand test (where specified)
- Switching impulse test (project specific)
- Temperature rise test
- Functional testing of the On-Load Tap Changer (OLTC)
- Oil dielectric strength and dissolved gas analysis (DGA)
- Leak and pressure tests
- Bushing electrical tests
- Current transformer (CT) verification
- Protection and monitoring system functional tests
- Final Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) witnessed by the customer (optional)
